2015 Watershed Congress is Seeking Presenters

The Watershed Congress Organizing Committee is now accepting proposals for presentations for the 2015 Watershed Congress along the Schuylkill River, to be held Saturday, March 14.  Submissions are due by 5:00 pm on Thursday, October 31, 2014.  All applications must be submitted online here.

TreeVitalize Community Grant Applications Due September 19

The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society is accepting TreeVitalize grant applications to cover the costs of planting 10-100 community and street trees.  For more information, contact Barley VanClief at 215-988-8793 or bvanclief@pennhort.org.

Master Watershed Stewards Program Accepting Applicants Through July 1

The  Conservation District is partnering with Penn State Extension and others to bring the Master Watershed Stewards Program to Montgomery County!   The program provides extensive training in watershed management to educate and empower volunteers who want to help improve the health of our streams and rivers.  If you have a keen interest in the environment, a willingness to learn, and a strong desire to make a difference, you can become a Master Watershed Steward.

2014 Growing Greener Grants; $21 Million Available

The Department of Environmental Protection is now accepting Growing Greener applications for watershed protection and abandoned mine drainage projects.

Applications are due by July 11, and potential applicants must discuss their projects with DEP beforehand.  See the full press release here.

NPDES Training for Agricultural Projects to be held by DEP

The Department of Environmental Protection will be holding training on NPDES Permitting for Agricultural Projects August 22nd, 2013 for those consultants and others designing projects that disturb one acre or greater on a farm. The agenda may be downloaded by clicking here.

The training is free of charge but you must pre-register. Lunch will be provided, as will refreshments during morning and afternoon breaks.
